The address to the 395th Ordinary Session of the Politburo was delivered in the run-up to Heroes Day and Defence Forces Day.
On the economy, the address reported that mineral export earnings are on an upward trajectory, driven by value addition and by investment in the sector. It noted the International Monetary Fund’s commendation of the country’s reforms, and Zimbabwe’s admission to the BRICS New Development Bank, which opens a route to alternative development financing.
On the Party, the address set out the strengthening of grassroots structures through capacity-building workshops and cadre recruitment, and directed leaders to "regularly engage and visit stakeholders and communities at the grassroots level". It restated that the Party is supreme over Government.
The address condemned "divisive narratives, hate and denigration" directed at national institutions, and described the preservation of peace as a "collective moral and sacred duty".
Tribute was paid to the late Major General Richard Ruwodo and to Professor Herbert Mapfumo Chinyanga, both declared national heroes.
